We’re less than one month away from the 2022/23 season getting underway and what a season it’s set to be. Not only do we have the return of Europe’s top leagues and competitions to look forward to but we also have a winter break for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar! However, almost four months of league football precedes the tournament and in the build up to football resuming, clubs and managers are building their squad for the campaign ahead.
As well as working with existing players in preseason training, clubs are looking to recruit new talent and cash in on ones they deem expendable. As such, some of the biggest names in football are set to move clubs during the summer transfer window and we’ll be looking at the biggest potential transfers along with where they might go and the odds available for each option.
It’s no secret that Manchester United underperformed last season and have been doing so for some time now. However, that fact was emphasised last week when their star forward Cristiano Ronaldo expressed his desire to leave the club this summer should a suitable offer from another club arise.
After six years at Old Trafford from 2003-2009, Ronaldo re-joined his old club at the beginning of last season. Despite his sides shaky campaign, Ronaldo bagged 18 goals in 30 league appearances as well as 6 goals in 7 matches in the Champions League. However, he and everyone knew that there were issues within the squad and changes needed to be made in preparation for the new season. The lack of summer signings from United have clearly concerned the 37-year-old Portuguese legend who wants to end his career competing in Europe’s top competitions – Something United can’t currently offer after finishing 6th in the league last season.
So, where could Ronaldo head to if he was to leave Man Utd?
Here are the latest odds on his next club:
Cristiano Ronaldo - Club After Summer Transfer Window | ||
---|---|---|
Man Utd | 5/4 | |
Chelsea | 11/4 | |
Bayern Munich | 4/1 | |
PSG | 14/1 | |
Real Madrid | 20/1 |
Neymar is one of the world’s most recognisable footballers and joined French Ligue 1 side PSG for a record transfer amount of $263 million back in 2017. However, the Brazilian forward is now 30 years of age and his high price tag and wage demands along with financial restrictions in football mean that only a handful of clubs could afford him this summer.
Neymar is still contracted with PSG but it is well-known that they would be open to send the star our on loan or sell him permanently to offload his current €700,000-a-week salary.
Here is who UK bookies have as favourites to sign Neymar within the transfer window:
Neymar - Club After Summer Transfer Window | ||

PSG | 1/2 | |
Chelsea | 4/1 | |
Barcelona | 7/1 | |

The future of England’s star forward has been the topic of debate for some months now with Kane being linked to several clubs including Premier League champions, Manchester City. However, out of all of the potential big transfers, Kane is probably the least likely to leave his club. There have been no firm offers since Kane announced he was looking to leave Spurs last summer. He stated earlier in the year that he would be remaining as a Tottenham player this summer and with his side securing a place in next seasons Champions League after finishing fourth last season, there is little reason for him to leave.
Tottenham have so far made four signings with Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster, Yves Bissouma and Richarlison all signing contracts. Those additions will likely strengthen the squad and so Kane will most likely be happy to see how the upcoming season plays out.
Kane is as short as 1/40 to remain at Spurs with Unibet and other bookies.
Here are the latest odds on Harry Kane’s next club after the summer transfer window has closed:
Harry Kane - Club After Summer Transfer Window | ||
---|---|---|
Tottenham | 1/40 | |
Any German Club | 8/1 | |
Man Utd | 12/1 | |

Frenkie de Jong is looking likely to move from La Liga club Barcelona in the summer transfer window and it is Manchester United who are the frontrunners to put pen to paper with the Dutch midfielder.
Barcelona have been in financial difficulty for some time now and it’s been reported that de Jong has cost the club a staggering £94 since joining just three years ago. Offloading his wage bill of £450,000 a week would be welcomed by Barca and they’re set to cash in around £56 from his sale to United.
The deal hasn’t been struck yet but it is believed the fee has been agreed on and so it looks likely that Man Utd are willing to make de Jong one of the top earners at Old Trafford.
Transfer windows are rarely without their drama and so it’s not out of the question the deal could fall through or another club could enter the running for the Dutchman’s signiture.
Here are the top contenders:

Man Utd | 4/11 | |

Man City | 33/1 | |
