Gateshead travel to Horsfall Stadium tonight to face Bradford (Park Avenue) in their opening game of the 2020/21 Vanarama National League North season with Mike Williamson’s side hoping to get their league campaign off to a flying start.
Gateshead head into this match on the back of a defeat to Chorley in the FA Cup second round qualifying on Saturday after a second half own goal from Chorley’s Harvey Smith wasn’t enough to cancel out two first half goals from the home side.

This fixture was cancelled last season due to the early termination of the league but Gateshead did finish 32 points and 15 places above Bradford in the league with two games in hand. The two sides did meet at Gateshead Stadium last season where Bradford were able to cancel out a first half goal from Gateshead’s O’Donnell – A scoreline which Williamson will hope his team can improve on this time around.
New signings Dan Ward and Romario Vieira are set to be included in the Gateshead squad which will be boosted further by the inclusion of Ruairi Keating who was sent off in their defeat to Chorley but set to serve his suspension against Fylde at the weekend.
