Well, good news, you can.
A number of the best bookmaker brands now allow bet editing and it’s more straight forward than it perhaps seems. Below you’ll find our complete guide to bet editing and how it works…
What Is Bet Editing? | Which Bookies Can You Edit Your Bet With? |
Bet365 Bet Edit | 10Bet Add2Bet |
Ladbrokes Edit My Acca | Bwin Edit My Bet |
NetBet Add2Bet | Bet Editing Tips |
Bet editing is practically what it says on the tin. It’s a feature offered by some bookmakers which allows you to tweak your bets after they’ve been placed, whether that be on football, horse racing or any other sport.
This feature has been growing with bookies over the last year thanks to live odds being so good that you can swap or add lines to your bets in real time with the odds then being updated and applied to your betslip.
It’s designed to give more power and flexibility to your bet and can be really worthwhile in adding that little bit of extra value to your wagers.
At present only a handful of the top bookmakers in the UK offer the ability to edit bets and the feature does vary from bookie to bookie.
Below you’ll find some of the more prominent bet editors across bookies alongside exactly how they work…
Bet365 has an Edit Bet function that gives players the option to add, swap or remove selections from their betslip both before a fixture has started and in-play.
You can also change the type of bet you have placed. For example, if you have placed a treble on three Premier League fixtures, you would be able to turn it into three doubles or three single bets.
The Bet365 Edit Bet feature is available when all selections in your current bet are available for cash out which means that they must be unsettled either pre-match or in-play. However, even if some of the selections in your bet have settled, so long as there is at least one which is unsettled, you can still edit your bet.
For example, if you were following our tips for England vs Iran at the World Cup and placed a bet on England to Win & Harry Maguire to be carded, you may wish to change your bet to England to Win & Luke Shaw to be carded depending on how the match is going.
When you make an edit to your bet, the odds are adjusted accordingly. The cash out value of your current selections will be used as the stake for your new bet.
It is important to consider the new odds you are being offered as these will be determined by the current odds of each of your selections at the time of editing your bet rather than the odds when you placed your bet.
To edit a bet with Bet365, click on the ‘Cash Out’ tab which is located within the ‘My Bets’ section.
Next, click on ‘Edit Bet’ on the bet you wish to make changes to.
From here you’ll be able to:
Once you have selected the bet you wish to edit, click on the ‘X’ symbol which is located alongside the selection you wish to remove. You can reverse this action once done by clicking on ‘Undo’ which allows you to temporarily remove selections to see what the new odds would be.
If you are happy with the new odds after removing a selection from your bet, click on ‘Save Changes’ and then on ‘Confirm’.
You new bet will then be active.
First, select the bet you wish to edit and then click on ‘Add Selection’. You will then be directed to the Bet365 homepage where you can choose a new selection to add to your bet.
Once you have found a selection, click to add it to your betslip. You can then click on ‘Add To Bet’ which will add it to your existing bet and new combined odds will be displayed.
If the new odds are acceptable, click on ‘Save Changes’ then on ‘Confirm’ and your bet with the new selection included will be active.
Swapping a selection allows you to replace a selection in your current bet with another from the same market.
To swap a selection, click on the leg you wish to swap and then on ‘Swap Selection’. Then, choose a different selection from the same market and it will be added in replacement of the original selection. The odds of your new bet will then be displayed.
Again, if you are happy with the swap and the new odds, click ‘Save Changes’ and ‘Confirm’ to activate your new bet.
Bet365 also allows you to increase the stake of a bet which you have already placed. You may wish to do this if you think the bet has a greater chance of coming in than when you originally placed your bet. For example, if a key player has unexpectedly been named in the starting lineup.
To increase the stake of your bet, select the bet and click on the stake amount on the betslip. You will then be given the option to increase the stake for your bet and it will display the new potential returns. The odds of your bet may also change depending on if they have between the time of placing your original bet and when you chose to increase your stake.
To confirm the increased stake, click ‘Done’, ‘Save Changes’ and ‘Confirm’.
One of the most interesting features of the Bet365 Bet Edit feature is the ability to change the type of bet which you have placed.
Click on a bet in your betslip and then on the current bet type. You will then be given a list of possible bet types your bet can be changed to. For example, you can change your bet from a ‘Win Only’ bet to an Each Way bet or from a Treble bet to three single bets.
Select the new bet type and the new odds, bet type, unit stake and returns will be displayed.
If you are happy with then, click on ‘Done’, ‘Save Changes’ and ‘Confirm’ to activate the new bet.

10Bet is another brand which offers a bet editor. Known as Add2Bet, the function allows you to add new selections to an open bet, although it doesn’t allow you to swap or remove any selections as it stands.
It’s a simpler version of Bet365’s bet edit feature but one which is useful and used by many 10Bet customers.
As the name suggests, 10Bet’s ‘Add2Bet’ feature allows you to add new selections to a bet which has already been placed. This allows you to turn a single bet into a double, treble or accumulator with the click of a button.
You may wish to use the Add2Bet feature if you have placed an early bet but have come across another bet later in the day which you think has value or a good chance of coming in. You may wish to combine these bets into one even though you have already placed a bet on the first selection.
Similar to the Bet365 bet edit feature, you can only add selections to an existing bet which is available for cash out.
Thankfully, the process of editing a bet with 10Bet is easy. Simply add a new selection to your betslip and you will be presented with two options as shown below.
You will be given the option to either:
To add the selection to an existing bet, click on the ‘Add to Open Bet’ button on your betslip.
It will then display all open bets which the new selection can be added to. An ‘Add To This Bet’ button will be displayed below each eligible bet and so you simply need to select which existing bet you want to add the new selection to.
After selecting the bet, you will then be shown the new bet with the new selection included. You will also see the new odds and new potential returns.
If you are happy with the new details, click on ‘Place Bets’ and your new bet will be active.
You can use the 10Bet Add2Bet features for bets on any sports and markets providing that the existing bet contains selections which are available for cash out. This is because the stake for your new bet will be based on the cash out value of your existing bet and not the original stake of your bet. Therefore, the stake of your new bet may either be greater or less than your original stake depending on the current cash out value.

Ladbrokes’ editor function focuses purely on accumulators with the ‘Edit My Acca‘ feature which allows you to add or remove teams to any active accumulator.
Let’s say that you place a four-team football accumulator in the morning only to find out that a number of key players are missing from the lineup of one of the teams you have backed. Usually, you would just have to hope that the team wins even at a disadvantage, but with the Ladbrokes Edit My Acca feature, you’re able to remove this team from your Acca if you wish to give your bet a greater chance of coming in.
Ladbrokes Edit My Acca is available for accumulators which contain selections which are are both in-play and yet to start so long as the existing Acca is available for cash out. If an accumulator bet isn’t available for cash out due to the market being suspended or another reason, you won’t be able to edit the bet at this time.
If you wish to make a change to an accumulator you have already placed with Ladbrokes, log into your account and click on ‘My Accas’.
Next, select the Acca which you wish to edit by clicking on ‘Edit My Acca’. You can then remove any selections within your Acca by clicking on the red ‘X’. When you do so, new odds and returns will be displayed. If you are happy with them, click ‘Confirm’ to activate your new Acca bet.
This bet edit feature from Ladbrokes isn’t as powerful as what is available at Bet365 as you are unable to both add or swap selections with only having the ability to remove selections from your Acca. However, it is still a very useful feature and one which should help many punters have more winning Acca bets.
18+. New UK+IRE customers. Paypal and certain deposit types and bet types excluded. Min £5 bet within 14 days of account reg at min odds 1/2 = 4 x £5 free bets. Free bets valid for 7 days on sports stake not returned, restrictions apply. T&Cs apply.
Online bookmaker Bwin also allows customers to make changes to bets they have already placed using the ‘Edit My Bet‘ feature.
Edit My Bet from Bwin is a powerful tool that rivals that of the Bet365 Bet Edit feature in that it allows you to:
Like all the other bet edit tools mentioned, the Edit My Bet feature from Bwin is available to all bets which are available to be cashed out at the time of editing. If your bet is unavailable for cash out, you will not be able to edit your bet at that point.
Whether you’re looking to add, remove or swap selections of your bet, or wish to increase the stake, you can do so by logging into your Bwin account and heading to the open bets section.
If you want to remove a selection from your bet after you have placed it, simply select the bet you wish to edit from the list of your open bets and click on the ‘X’ alongside the selection.
The new odds and potential returns will be recalculated and if you are happy with them, click on ‘Save Bet Changes’ to confirm your new bet.
You may come across a good value bet later in the day and wish to add it to a bet you had placed earlier. If so, select the live bet which you want to add the new selection to and click on the ‘Add Selection’ button as shown below.
You can then browse the Bwin markets and select a new bet to add it to your betslip. To confirm, click on the ‘Add to Bet’ button which will add it to your existing bet along with displaying new odds and returns.
Bwin also allows you to swap a selection in your existing bet with another from the same market.
For example, you may have bet on Chelsea to beat Barcelona but found out later in the day that many of Chelsea’s top players have been left out of the squad. Therefore, you may wish to change your bet to Barcelona winning the match.
To do this, select the leg of your bet you wish to change and then the bet which you’d like to swap it to.
Click ‘Confirm’ to finalise the bet.
The final option with the Bwin Edit My Bet feature is the ability to change the stake of a bet which you have placed.
To increase the stake, select the bet and enter the amount which you wish to increase the stake by.
Click ‘Confirm’ to activate your bet with the new stake.
18+, new customers only, min deposit £10, max stake £10, min odds 1/1 (2.0), max free bet £10, excludes horse racing, terms & conditions apply.
The NetBet bet edit feature shares the same name as that of 10Bet’s Add2Bet and works in a very similar way in that it allows customers to add selections to bets they have already placed.
The NetBet Add2Bet feature does not allow selections to be removed or swapped from existing bets or for the stake to be edited and so is a slightly less-powerful version compared to Bet365 and Bwin’s bet editing capabilities. However, it can still be extremely useful for when you wish to add new selections to your bets.
Below is a quick 30 second video showing you how bet editing with NetBet works.
To add a new selection to a bet, simply click on it to add it to your betslip.
Next, click on the ‘Choose a bet to edit’ buton.
Find the live bet which you wish to add the new selection to and click on the ‘Add to the bet’ button.
The last step is to confirm the new bet with the new selection added by clicking on ‘Place Bets’.
Your old bet will be removed and your new bet will be active from this point.

There are a number of things you should be wary about when using the bet editor functions at betting sites, particularly as it could end up losing you money on your bet.
The first thing to be aware of is that once you edit your bet, all selections will be updated to their current price. Therefore, if the odds have been slashed on a particular market, you may not be getting a better payout than your initial bet despite adding extra selections.
Therefore it’s important to look at the bigger picture and how it may affect your bet as a whole.
What’s more, with all bet editor functions you will only be able to make amends on markets that offer cash out, and in some cases only on certain sports too. The best thing to do is read all terms and conditions before using such features.
