As we get further into the season, we are already seeing the players who will be in the race for the Premier League Player of the Season award. The bookies are starting to slash the prices of the players who are performing better than they previously assumed and more bettors are putting their outright bets on.
The bookies cutting the prices is the reason a lot of gamblers prefer using sites like HideousSlots to play on casinos, the odds never change and can’t be moved to the casino’s favour. The changing of the odds can sometimes be seen as a good sign, however, and usually means they think it has a potential for the bet to win.
Back to the point, the Player Of The Season is an accolade that only a few players can say that they have. Last season we saw Phil Foden, deservedly, win the award for his best season yet but this season he has started slower with injuries and things going on behind the scenes. This is sad for Foden but means we may see a new player win the award.
Before we go into every season, we should just assume that Haaland is the odds-on favourite to win the PFA Player of the Year award and move on. This year, he had one of his best starts and looked sharper and better than ever. This was most likely due to him having a longer summer and being able to fully recharge and relax.
His quick start was met with plaudits from the pundits and anger from the fans who are sick of him being the best player in the league. His goal against Arsenal early in the game was a big one and helped City get their point. Despite him not scoring in back-to-back games, he is still clear of every other player at the top of the goal-scoring charts and is on track to regain his trophy and missing out last year.
Starting the season at 20/1 to win the PFA Player Of The Year trophy, Cole Palmer has started the season off ridiculously strongly and is clearly keeping his form from last year. Due to this, the bookmakers sliced his price down to 9/4 and as the season carries on, I think we will see a lot more of this.
As we said, the 22-year-old has had a strong start to the season and his four fantastic goals against Brighton showed everyone that he wasn’t a one-season wonder. After snatching up the Young Player of the Season award last year, in his first year for Chelsea, we think that he has a very good chance of winning the big one this year.
Earlier in the season, Salah confirmed that this season would most likely be his last in the Premier League as he runs out his contract. Liverpool’s fans are heartbroken, obviously, but for Salah, this could be motivation. He will want to win the trophies, team and individual, and leave with a bang in his last full season with the Reds.
As of right now, Liverpool are currently at the top of the league and have been the best defensive team in the league. These two factors are the reason why two Liverpool players are two of our favourites to win the PFA Player Of The Year trophy.
This year Van Dijk has been great and has been a constant in a defence that has had a good variation. His passing has been exceptional and with Liverpool conceding only two goals in 7 games and him captaining the side, if they can keep a good defensive record and win the league or any other major trophy, we could see Van Dijk take him a big individual trophy in what is rumoured to be his last year too.
