In this article, we’ll be taking a look at Scorecast bets which are a popular football bet with casual punters. We’ll be diving into:
A scorecast bet is two bets combined into one and applies to the first scorer and the correct score markets. For example, Harry Kane is one of the top predictions for World Cup top scorer and if you thought he would score first in England’s opening match against Iran and the final score would be 2-1, your scorecast bet would be ‘Kane to score first, England to win 2-1’. You must correctly predict the first scorer and the correct score for your bet to win. Football correct score tips are available for free on WhichBookie on a daily basis.
A scorecast bet refers to a bet placed on the first goalscorer and the correct score. However, there are different variations of scorecasts bets which are common at most online bookies.
Scorecast: A bet containing the first goalscorer and the correct score.
Anytime Scorecast: A bet containing a player to score at any time in the match along with the correct score.
1st Half Scorecast: A bet containing a player to score first along with the correct half-time score.
Wincast: A bet containing a player to score first along with the match-winner. No correct score bet is required.
Anytime Wincast: A bet containing a player to score any time along with the match winner.
Timecast: A bet containing the player to score first along with when they will score the goal. Bookies usually give a specific timeframe for betting such as 00:00 – 9:59, 10:00 – 19:59, 20:00 – 29:59 etc.
You can bet on scorecasts along with all of the variations mentioned at Betfair.
If you have found a number of bookmakers which offer betting on scorecasts or the different variations of scorecasts, it can be difficult to know which ones are best to bet with. After all, the only way to compare odds of scorecasts between bookmakers is to do it manually as odds comparison sites don’t provide this data as there are too many possible combinations.
However, the bookies which offer the best odds on football betting in general will typically provide the best odds for scorecasts and in our opinion, this is Bet365. Bet365 are one of the UK’s leading bookies and regularly offer the best odds on football markets. New customers can also claim the Bet365 Sign-Up Bonus which credits customers with up to £100 in Bet Credits.
However, if you are looking for betting offers to use with your Scorecast bets, we recommend Betfred. Customers at Betfred can take advantage of a number of football betting offers available throughout the week. These typically consist of free bets and price boosts which can have a lot of value.

A solid scorecast strategy is hard to come by as generally, scorecast bets are relatively hard to win which are reflected in the high odds.
However, there are some factors which you can take into consideration to increase your chances of winning your scorecast bets and to increase your returns of winnings bets which we have listed below.
One part of your scorecast bet is deciding on which player will score the first goal. You can simply look at previous games for the teams which are playing and make a note of which players have found the net first on a regular basis. You may find that some players score a reasonable number of goals per season but do not score the first goal in a game often. This may be because they are used as a ‘super-sub’ or that the team which they play for often concedes the first goal.
The second part of your scorecast bet is predicting the final score. Again, you can look at previous results to get an idea of what the score will be and also look at head-to-head matches between the two teams playing to see what previous results have been between them. For example, a side which regularly wins 3-0 or 4-0 against weaker opposition are unlikely to win a match 1-0 at home against a similar standard team.
It is vital that you keep on top of team news and announced lineups. If you back a player to score first and they end up starting on the bench, you decrease your chances of winning your scorecast bet significantly. Always make sure your player is starting the match before placing your bet. Lineups are usually announced around 1 hour before kick-off. Although with some players such as Mo Salah, Harry Kane and other big names, you can be confident they will start if they are fit.
Scorecast bets can be difficult to predict correctly but the returns are usually quite high to reflect this. Although there isn’t a scorecast strategy as such, you can increase your chances of winning your scorecast bets through research of the players, teams and statistics.
