Each Way Edge is a unique offer from Betfair Sportsbook which allows customers to have more control over their each way bets by allowing them to edit the place terms.

Where most bookmakers pay out on each way bets for a set number of places, Each Way Edge allows you to select the number of places which apply to your each way bet and adjusts the odds accordingly.

For example, let’s say that you want to place an each way bet on ‘Fraser Island’ in the 12:20 at Newbury and the bookmakers standard place terms are 3 places at 1/5 odds. You can edit your bet using Each Way Edge so that the place part of your each way bet wins if your horse finishes in the first 2, 3 4 or 5 places.

As you can see, the returns for the bet reduces as you add more places.

With a £10 each way bet (£20 total stake), our returns based on the number of places would be:

• 2 Places: £38
• 3 Places: £35
• 4 Places: £32.60
• 5 Places: £30.91

Each Way Edge is an excellent feature from Betfair which gives you more control over your bets. It can be useful if you are confident that your selection will finish in a place lower than the standard number of places or when you think that your selection may just fall out of the standard number of places. Using Each Way Edge, you can edit the number of places to be in-line with your prediction.

Betfair’s Each Way Edge is available on selected horse races. Simply add a selection to your betslip and if available, you’ll see an option to apply Each Way Edge. Then, all you need to do is select how many places you would like to include in your bet, enter your stake and confirm your bet.
