LeoVegas is one of the biggest online betting companies and in recent years have launched other betting sites alongside their flagship brand, LeoVegas Sports & Casino. BetUK was acquired by the company back in 2018 and in 2023, BetMGM was launched which also offers sports & casino betting along with a generous BetMGM free bet offer of £40 for new customers.

At the time of writing this review, there are 35 different sports available to bet on at LeoVegas ranging from popular sports such as football, tennis, basketball and horse racing to more niche sports such as bandy, surfing and trotting.

As expected, you’ll find the most markets for football where there can be 100+ pre-match markets for matches in leagues such as the English Premier League or the Spanish La Liga. 

Tennis is also popular on LeoVegas with matches covered for tournaments taking place all around the world in Grand Slam competitions such as Wimbledon, US Open and French Open.

All of the available sports can be found in the sports drop-down menu where you can select a sport and then filter the results by league, competition and country.

Horse Racing

All UK and Irish racing is available to bet on at LeoVegas as well as selected races from Australia, South Africa and the USA. We were disappointed to find no horse racing offers available at LeoVegas, especially Best Odds Guaranteed. If you place a large number of horse racing bets then there may be better bookmakers for you other than LeoVegas such as Bet365, William Hill or Paddy Power but if you only place the occasional racing bet, what they offer may be sufficient for you.

In-Play Betting

All available in-play betting markets at LeoVegas can be found by clicking on the ‘LIVE’ tab. There is a good number of in-play events at LeoVegas although we found the number of in-play markets to be lacking for some sports. However, if you are looking to bet in-play on football or tennis matches in major competitions then you should find the number of markets acceptable.

Like many bookmakers, LeoVegas offer a number of statistics for in-play events of which there are many of. For football matches, you’re able to view the form of each team, where they are in the league, the lineups, in-play stats and much more. These stats are unfortunately sometimes not available for lower-league games.

Live Streaming

Unfortunately, LeoVegas does not currently offering live streaming of any sports through their website or app. 

Customer Service

LeoVegas customer support can be contacted either by telephone, email or through their live chat feature. We always recommend using live chat when possible as you usually get a response a lot quicker than with email but it’s good to know multiple options are available to get in touch with them.

Unfortunately, there is no help or FAQ section at LeoVegas Sports which is slightly disappointing but we were connected to a support agent in less than one minute when testing which meant our query was dealt with promptly.

LeoVegas App

LeoVegas have won the ‘Best Mobile Operator’ award on more than one occasion and use the term ‘The King Of Mobile’ in their advertising and so you’d expect them to provide an above-average mobile experience through both their mobile website and the LeoVegas app.

Fortunately, their sports betting app works well although there is a separate app to download for the LeoVegas Casino. The LeoVegas app looks fresh with their trademark orange colours on a light grey background and navigation throughout the app is easy with a sport of sports which can later be filtered by country or competition.

The app is available to download for both iOS and Android devices for free from the associated app stores.

The Website

Although we found the LeoVegas website to be easy enough to navigate around, it does have a slightly dated feel to it. The narrow, boxed layout doesn’t leave a lot of room which means not a huge amount of content can fit on a visible part of the screen. However, the website loads fast and you shouldn’t have any issues finding the sports or market that you want. 

The current promotions can be found by clicking on the ‘promotions’ tab in the main nav bar and this will display all the latest offers for both the sportsbook and casino sections of LeoVegas.

LeoVegas gives customers the option to cash out their bets. Cash out gives users the option to lock in a return from their bets instantly before the bet is due to settle. Cash out at LeoVegas is available on selected events, both in pre-match and live, as well as on both single and multiple bets, although users cannot use the cash out feature for bets placed with free bets.

Online Casino

As mentioned earlier, LeoVegas started as an online casino back in 2011 and this part of the site is still the driving force of the brand. There is a huge number of games available to play at LeoVegas Casino. Over 600 in fact. Ranging from hundreds of online slots and dozens of card and table games such as blackjack, roulette, Red Dog, baccarat, Texas Hold’em and more. They also offer players a range of live casino games where you can play with real life dealers and croupiers.

Games are powered by a number of providers such as NetEnt, Extreme and evolution Gaming, giving players an excellent choice of games.

Banking

Although LeoVegas don’t offer the most number of options for funding and withdrawing from your account, they do have the main ones such as debit cards and a number of e-wallets covered.

Withdrawal times are relatively quick with most taking 1-5 days.

Account Settings

LeoVegas Sports is currently only available in English but does provide other account settings for customers which can be used to personalise their experience.

Odds Format: By clicking on the settings link in the main menu, customers are able to change the format of the odds displayed across the LeoVegas website to either Fractional, Decimal or American.

Odds Changes: Users can select whether or not to automatically accept changes in odds once a bet has been added to the bet slip. They can also opt to only accept odds if they have increased.

Responsible Gambling: LeoVegas provide an extensive responsible gambling section which contains a host of information as well as responsible gambling settings.

Self Assessment: LeoVegas offer customers a self-assessment which can help determine how safe your betting habits are. This is a 100% free and anonymous test and involves a series of multiple-choice questions.

Deposit Limits: Customers can limit the amount of money they can deposit into their LeoVegas account on a daily, weekly or monthly basis.

Loss Limits: Customers can limit the amount of money they lose on LeoVegas on a daily, weekly or monthly basis.

Session Limits: Customers can set a limit for how long they can play. They are then notified via a popup just before they have been playing for this time and then automatically logged out once they reach it.

Wagering Limits: Customers can limit the amount of money they can ager on LeoVegas on a daily, weekly or monthly basis.

Player History: Easily view your wagers, deposits, withdrawals and pending bets.

Time Out: Customers can opt to take a break from LeoVegas for a set period. They will not have access to their account during this time.

Summary

LeoVegas is mainly known for its online casino but does provide a sportsbook that’s worth taking a look at. We feel that the website could do with a bit of modernisation but overall, it holds up well against some of the more established bookmakers which have been around for longer.
