Star Sports offers betting on an impressive range of sports for a bookmaker which is relatively small compared to the more established brands.
Customers have the choice of almost 30 different sports ranging from football, horse racing, greyhounds, darts, basketball and golf to betting on politics, Gaelic sports and even TV shows such as Britain’s Got Talent and I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.

Many sporting events in major competitions and leagues have a large number of available betting markets. For example, for football matches, you can bet on the match winner, HT/FT, half betting, first/last goalscorer, handicaps and many more. We were also impressed by the number of ‘special bets’ which are available on Star Sports. Some examples of these for a football match are ‘Over 1.5 goals and over 8.5 corners in the match’, ‘Eintracht Frankfurt to score over 0.5 goals and over 1.5 Eintracht Frankfurt cards’ and ‘Eintracht Frankfurt to win, both teams to score and over 12.5 corners in the match’.
After comparing the odds on offer at Star Sports to the likes of William Hill and Bet365, we found them to be very competitive. There was very little difference in the odds which should give customers confidence that they’re getting good value when betting with Star Sports.
StarSports covers a wide range of race meetings from the UK & Ireland as well as international meetings in South Africa, France, the USA and other countries.
Unfortunately, best odds guaranteed is not available at StartSports but you will find other horse racing offers available during certain meetings and festivals with one example being ‘Money Back if your horse is beaten by a neck or less’.
First Past The Post is available at StarSports. However, it is worth noting that they will only pay up to £200 on UK & Irish racing in these circumstances.

Clicking on the ‘In-Play’ tab in the main menu will display all of the current sporting events which are in-play which are available to bet on. There is good number of sports and in-play markets available and again, we found the odds to be in-line with some of the top bookies.
In-play odds fluctuate more frequently than pre-match odds and when they do, they are highlighted by different colours on Star Sports. For example, when the price is shortening, the odds flash red and when they are drifting, the odds flash blue. It’s a nice feature which can come in useful.
One area Star Sports lacks in is with live streaming. Currently, live streams are not available on Star Sports for any sporting events which is slightly disappointing given their comprehensive coverage of sports and available pre-match and in-play betting markets.
Star Sports customer support is available via email, telephone and live chat. Live chat is only available to logged in users and so if you have a pre-registration question, you will need to contact the team via an alternate method. There is also a FAQ section which contains answers to various frequently asked questions which may be of help to new customers.
Star Sports customers have the option to download the Star Sports App which is available for both Android and iOS devices and can be downloaded for free from the app stores.
The app works great and allows access to all pre-match and in-play betting markets just like on the Star Sports website. Customers can also access the Star Sports Casino, virtual sports section and all other areas of the site and their accounts directly via the app.
Another benefit of having the Star Sports App installed is that you’re able to receive notifications of when there are special offers and other announcements.
With so many bookmaker websites using the same provider and having similar designs, it’s refreshing to see something slightly different with Star Sports. The design isn’t so different that you’ll be lost when you’re on the site but the differences do make it unique.
A list of sports available to bet on populate the left sidebar with upcoming and in-play events taking centre stage on the homepage. A long list of current promotions and betting offers are also available in the right sidebar.
Users can navigate between the main areas of the site using the menu at the top of the page with the options being the sportsbook, in-play betting, casino, virtual sports betting and Star Sports news.
The Star Sports website loads fast, is well designed and overall, we were impressed by it.
The Star Sports Casino hosts around 400 different games. At the time of writing, there were over 300 online slots available from a number of game developers, 30+ table games such as Blackjack, Roulette, Baccarat and more, a variety of instant win games, video poker and over a dozen virtual sports.
Overall, the range of casino games at Star Sports Casino will no doubt satisfy the majority of players.
Disappointingly, Star Sports doesn’t currently offer any live casino games. Live casino games such as Blackjack and Roulette where you play with live dealers and croupiers have become extremely popular over the past couple of years along with new live casino games such as live Deal or No Deal, Monopoly Live, Dream Catcher, Mega Ball and other live game shows and so the addition of some of these games to the Star Sports Casino would be a huge improvement.
Many online bookmakers now offer virtual sports betting. These are computer-simulated sporting events which run every couple of minutes meaning that there is a constant stream of events to bet on. A range of virtual sports is available at Star Sports including virtual football, greyhounds, horse racing, tennis, trotting, speedway and more.
You can bet on virtual sports at Star Sports via your desktop, tablet or mobile phone and watch the computer-generated event live.
Early in 2021, Star Sports launched a new service which specifically targetted those working in the betting industry who wish to place bets.
Betting company employees can often struggle to place bets online with bookmakers and can have their accounts restricted or closed relatively quickly. With Star Sports new Industry Account betting service, the bookmaker will lay any bet on main markets to win up to £500, allowing betting industry employees to bet freely with Star Sports. This service applies to bets placed after 10:15am on the day of the event.
Star Sports have taken an honest approach to launching their new initiative by stating that they will not restrict accounts based purely on profit & loss but if an account is solely used for placing arbs or for claiming special offers, it may still be restricted or closed. However, if the account shows ‘good bets’, they will value the business and may even get in touch to discuss increasing betting limits.

Star Sports doesn’t provide the most comprehensive list of banking options with only debit cards, bank transfers and cheque deposits being available. The majority of customers will use a debit card for their deposits & withdrawals but we would like to see some e-wallet options available such as PayPal, Neteller and Skrill.

Being a relatively small online bookmaker when compared to some of the more established brands, Star Sports impressed us with what they have to offer.
They offer good odds and a great range of sports and betting markets along with regular betting offers and promotions for customers.
We would like to see the addition of live streaming, live casino games and more banking options but the absence of these features may not both many customers.
