Dragon Tiger is one of the easiest to understand games in a casino and is a two-card version of Bacarrat. Don’t worry if you don’t know how to play Baccarat either as getting the hang of Dragon Tiger will take minutes and we’ll explain everything in this article as well as showing you which casinos you can play Dragon Tiger Live at.
How To Play Dragon Tiger
In a game of Dragon Tiger, two cards are dealt on the table. One to the Dragon side of the table and one to the Tiger side.
Before the cards are dealt, you simply have to predict which of the two cards will be higher; the card dealt to the Dragon or the card dealt to the Tiger. There is also the option to bet on a tie as well as a number of side bets.
Dragon Tiger is usually played with 8 decks of cards with shoes being shuffled when one deck remains. However, this rule may vary between casinos and live casino game providers.
Dragon Tiger Bets
At the start of each betting round, before any cards are dealt, players have the following betting options:
Main Dragon Tiger Bets
Bet on the Tiger card or Dragon card being higher
Bet on the two cards having the same value (TIE)
Bet on the two cards having the same value and suit (SUITED TIE)
Dragon Tiger Side Bets
The two main live Dragon Tiger game providers are Evolution Gaming and Playtech. Evolution Gaming does not provide any side game bets but the following are available with Playtech.
Bet on either a Dragon or Tiger card being higher than a 7 (BIG)
Bet on either a Dragon or Tiger card being lower than a 7 (SMALL)
Bet on either a Dragon or Tiger card being an Odd or Even
Dragon Tiger Rules
Dragon Tiger is an extremely easy game to understand but there are a few rules you should be aware of.
1.Each card has it’s own value. For example, a King doesn’t have the same value as a Queen. An Ace is low (1), each of the number cards have the value of their number and the values ascend throughout the picture cards eg Jack (11), Queen (12) & King (13).
2. If you bet on either the Dragon or the Tiger card being higher and both cards have the same value resulting in a tie, half of your stake is returned to you.
Dragon Tiger Payouts
The payouts for Dragon Tiger bets vary depending on whether you are playing at an Evolution Gaming or Playtech table.

So, now we now how to play Dragon Tiger and where to play it, but is it worth playing?
Dragon Tiger can be an enjoyable game to play. It’s easy to understand and Suited Tie bets can pay out to 50/1. However, are these good bets?
To find out, we need to know the Return To Player, or RTP, of Dragon Tiger.
Betting on Dragon or Tiger has an RTP of 96.72% (House Edge of 3.28%)
Betting on a TIE has an RTP of 89.64% (House Edge of 10.36%)
Betting a SUITED TIE has an RTP of 86.02% (House Edge of 13.98%)
The main game when betting on the Dragon or Tiger card being higher has a respectable RTP of 96.72%. However, betting on both a Tie or Suited Tie increases the House Edge dramatically. Therefore, we would recommend avoiding these bets and sticking to the main even money bet when possible.
