Today we head to Newcastle for two selections then its over to Romford for the the Coral Essex Vase semi-finals taking place at the London Road circuit. Catch all the action live on the dedicated Attheraces greyhound website or via the Sky Sports Racing red button.
The first selection for us today is Watermill Gideon who lines up from T5 in the A9 graded race at 5.06 over the standard four-bend trip of 480 metres. Plenty of newcomers in this race so watch the market, but at the current prices Gideon looks a solid bet. His recent form doesn’t read well at first glance his times hold up very well against the others in this field, hes recently clocked 30.20, a repeat of that would see him bolt up here.
5.06 Newcastle Greyhound Tip – WATERMILL GIDEON (T5) – 1 Point win @ 15/8 with bet365
A later on one that should go well is Watermill Minie (T1) in the A7 graded at 6.02 from Newcastle. Minnie was off the track from early September until mid-December, four recent runs would have blown away the cobwebs and she should be ready to win today. Prior to the lay off Minnie was a consistent A5 performer, shes better than this current A7 grade and granted a clear run she will prove too good for these. Bramble Dora rates as the danger from T5, with a smart exit she will be a runner.
6.02 Newcaslte Greyhound Betting Tip – WATERMILL MINNIE (T1) – 1 Point win @ 5/2 with bet365
Over at Romford this evening the Coral Essex Vase semi-finals take place with two from each heat qualifying for next weeks final. New Destiny heats the outright market at 13/8 and that could look value if he bolts up this evening and gets a decent draw in the final.
In the first semi-final at 7.44 I’ll take a chance on Aayamza Sydney from T4. The two previous times the John Mullins trained son of Droopys Sydney has run from this box at Romford hes bolted up, if he gets it right at lid rise this evening its race on.
