Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire is home to some of the UK’s most prestigious racing events, including 13 Group 1 Flat races and 3 Grade 1 Jumps races throughout the year. Hosting famous events like the Gold Cup and King George VI Chase, Ascot is one of the main venues for punters looking to bet on top-quality horse racing.
With Royal connections dating back to 1711 when the 179 acre course was leased from the Crown Estate and founded by Queen Anne, Ascot attracts over 600,000 racegoers annually. Notably, the course’s £200 million redevelopment in 2006 included a new grandstand, ensuring the racecourses standards were kept to the highest level possible.

Ascot hosts both flat and jumps racing throughout the year.
Ascot’s flat course is a right-handed, triangular shape, with a 2.5-furlong run-in. Races between 5-7 furlongs take place on the straight mile course.
The National Hunt course is also right-handed and reopened after major redevelopment in 2006/07. One of the improvements was with the drainage of the course which means that conditions rarely get testing.
Good jumpers excel in Ascot’s National Hunt races, which feature stiff fences that often lead to fallers.
Royal Ascot 2025 takes place between 17th-21st June with racegoers and punters already preparing for the prestigious five-day event. As well as providing free Ascot racing tips throughout the year, WhichBookie’s racing expert will be sharing their 2025 Royal Ascot tips well in advance.
