Pontefract Tips

Pontefract Racecourse is located in West Yorkshire and is an independently owned course that hosts flat racing throughout the summer.

The course was horseshoe-shaped but was changed in 1983 and is now one of the longest continuous flat racing circuits in Europe around 2 miles.

Pontefract course is left-handed and hilly with up and downhill sections throughout the circuit. It’s a rather testing track with the final three furlongs being uphill.
