Once registered, you will need to download the 888Poker software. If you wish to play standard online poker against other 888Poker users or enter online poker tournaments, you can use the 888Poker app or no-download version, but if you wish to set up private poker games, this option is only available on the download version.

After downloading the 888Poker software, you can create your private poker game. To create a game, from the main menu, click on:

You will then be given the option to either join a game which has already been created or to create a new game for you and your friends.

If you have the name and the password for a game already created, click on ‘Join a Game’ and enter the details to register for the game. If you wish to create a new one, click on the option and you will be presented with the following options.

2. Create a new cash game

If the tournament option is selected, each player will put a set amount of money into the pot when joining the game and will be given the same amount of chips each.

If the cash game option is selected, the number of chips they receive will depend on the amount of money they buy-in with.

Let’s take a look at the fields for the private tournament option first. Be aware that there are additional fields in the ‘more options’ section on the right hand side of the screen which you must click on to display.

• Start Time: The time which the tournament will start
• Buy-In: How much each player will put into the pot to enter the tournament
• Number of Seats: The number of seats at the table
• Prize Pool Structure: There are multiple options eg. winner takes all, 70%/30% between 1st & 2nd place etc
• 2nd Chance: Whether rebuys are permitted
• Rebuy/Add-on: Whether rebuys/add-ons are permitted
• Reoccurrence: A handy option to repeat the tournament for the same time each week or month
• Blinds Increase: Whether you want the blinds to increase slowly, at a normal pace or quickly (turbo)
• Action Time: How long each player gets to decide on their play (normal or fast)

Select an option for each in each of the above fields and click on the ‘Create Game’ button to finalise your private poker tournament.

You can then share the name and password of your tournament with players you want to join and they can download the 888Poker software and click on the ‘Join a Game’ button in the ‘Play With Friends’ section to enter your tournament.

Creating a private cash poker game for you and your friends works in a similar way. Simply click on the ‘Create New Cash Game’ button and you will be asked to select an option from the following fields.
