Chisholm Bookmakers is a UK-based, independent family-run chain of betting shops. Established in the early 1950s by Reuben Chisholm, the company has grown to become a prominent independent bookmaker in the United Kingdom.

Over the decades, Chisholm Bookmakers expanded its operations by opening new betting shops and acquiring existing ones. The company has maintained a significant presence in the northern part of England, particularly in the North East.

The shops offer a range of betting services on sports, including horse racing, football, and greyhound racing. They’re generally well managed and the Company has a reputation for investing in staff training and good customer service. 

Managing Director Howard Chisholm is also a Director of the Bookmakers Technology Consortium which operates from the same Head Office and helps supply other independent bookmakers with IT and technology solutions.

Chisholms introduced their own interactive online betting website as early as 2001 called betsmart.co.uk but heavy losses soon forced the closure of the site.

Do Chisholm Bookmakers Have A Website?

Chisholm Bookmakers did have a website (chisholmbet.com) where customers could place their bets online. However, the website was closed, along with their telephone betting service on Sunday 31st July 2023.

Chisholm now offer their betting services solely via their chain of UK betting shops.
