The 2021 Cheltenham Festival turned out to be a spectacular success for the WhichBookie racing tips column. Our in house horse racing analyst Will Smith has been providing ante-post tips for Cheltenham since early last year and they gave our readers some astonishing value at this year’s Festival.
In all 33 Tips were provided including the Daily Tips published the day prior to each day’s racing and the profit to a £10 each way stake on each selection would have netted readers with a profit of £521 or 79% return on stakes.
WhichBookie have been providing Free Racing Tips since early 2020 and readers were well into pocket all through last year with regular big priced winners and placed horses the order of the day.
However the Cheltenham results were particularly impressive with several long range ante-post bets paying off handsomely and some other selections advised at big odds which were backed down to odds on , only to be denied at the very last.
The biggest single win of the week was in the Betway sponsored Champion Chase with Put The Kettle On battling to a thrilling victory having been advised at odds of 25/1 in early November. Will’s closing comments in his article were very clear “Put The Kettle On is now two from two at Cheltenham, is trained by a master of two mile chasers, and would have been a good winner of this year’s Champion Chase had she ran in it. How she is 25/1 for the 2021 Champion Chase is beyond me.”
Galvin was also a strong ante-post Tip from Will Smith for the National Hunt Chase on the opening day of the Festival and the Jack Kennedy ridden stayer outclassed his rivals to land the odds of 14/1 which were advised on 4th November 2020.
The biggest race of the week is of course the Cheltenham Gold Cup on the very last day of the meeting won this year by Minello Indo by 1 ¼ lengths from A Plus Tard both horses from the Henry De Bromhead stable. WhichBookie readers had the 1-2 in one of the National Hunt season’s biggest races with Minella Indo advised at odds of 10/1 ante-post and A Plus Tard advised as a back up bet at odds of 6/1 a week before the race.
Perhaps the most high profile ante-post Tip was the Shishkin / Envoi Allen singles and double bet which was advised to readers on 27th April last year when Shishkin was available at odds of 4/1 for the Arkle Novice Chase and Envoi Allen at 9/2 for the Marsh Novices Chase. The double was at odds of just over 25/1 and with Shishkin having won easily at odds on from the opening day of the Festival , the stage was set for Envoi Allen to complete the bet but despite being sent off at odds of 4/9 to win the Marsh Novices Chase , Envoi Allen unfortunately fell at the 4th fence.
