Leicester City Football Club will always be remembered in history as the underdogs who won the Premier League.
It was back in 2016 that Claudio Ranieri guided the Foxes to their first ever Premier League title, fighting off the likes of Arsenal Spurs, Manchester City & United to finish 10 points clear at the top of the table.
However, less than 9 months after achieving the impossible, manager Claudio Ranieri was sacked by Leicester City which sent shock waves throughout the football world. Leicester were unable to reproduce the form and results that lead them to the title the season prior and as is usually the case, it was the manager who took the hit.
Since their title win, Leicester have had up and down seasons with their best finishes being in the 2019/20 & 2020/21 campaigns when Brendan Rodgers guided them to 5th-place in the Premier League.
Leicester City are currently without a permanent manager after Brendan Rodgers left the club by mutual content the day after the Foxes suffered a 2-1 away to Crystal Palace on Saturday 1st April.
Brendan Rodgers is a highly regarded football manager who is currently the manager of Leicester City FC. He was born in Northern Ireland on January 26, 1973, and began his football career as a defender with Ballymena United, before moving into coaching in his mid-20s.
Rodgers first rose to prominence as a manager during his time at Swansea City, where he led the team to promotion to the Premier League in 2011. His success at Swansea caught the eye of Liverpool and he was appointed as their manager in 2012.
During his time at Liverpool, Rodgers led the team to a second-place finish in the Premier League in the 2013-2014 season, narrowly missing out on the title to Manchester City. He also guided Liverpool to the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League in the 2014-2015 season.
After leaving Liverpool in 2015, Rodgers took charge of Scottish giants Celtic and won two consecutive Scottish Premiership titles, as well as several domestic cups. In February 2019, Rodgers returned to the Premier League as the manager of Leicester City.
At Leicester, Rodgers continued to impress, leading the team to fifth-place finishes in the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 seasons, and securing a place in the UEFA Europa League. Known for his tactical acumen and emphasis on possession-based football, Rodgers is widely considered to be one of the most promising managers in world football.
However, the 2022/23 season hasn’t been as positive for Rodgers or Leicester City. With just 10 games of the season left, Rodgers has left the Foxes second-bottom of the league table and in real danger of slipping down into the Championship for the first time since 2014.
Brendan Rodgers became the next Premier League manager to be sacked after his side conceded in injury time to lose their latest match 2-1 away to Crystal Palace on Saturday 1st April.
There are several possible successors to Rodgers and we’ve listed the most likely contenders with the odds for the next Leicester manager below.

Former Burnley manager Sean Dyche was the bookies favourite to be the next permanent manager of Leicester City Football Club last week. However, following the sacking of Graham Potter shortly after Brendan Rodgers departed, the former Chelsea manager is tipped to walk straight into another Premier League managerial role at the King Power Stadium.
Potter’s time at Chelsea didn’t go as planned but he is respected for his achievements during his time as manager of Brighton. Leicester City have reportedly enquired about the immediate plans Potter has following his departure which has resulted in the 47-year-old jumping to the top of the bookies’ list for the next permanent manager of Chelsea FC.
Leicester City have had several managers take the reins that the club over the years. A full list of managers can be seen below.
